Power BI is a real-time information data analysis and visualization platform that is practical, interactive, and works automatically.

Some uses of Power BI:

  • Transform data into a variety of different visuals, including pie charts, decomposition trees, measure charts, KPIs, combo charts, bar and column charts, and band charts.

  • Provide data access, data visualization tools, and insights across the enterprise to create a data-driven work culture.


 

  • Connect various data sources. Such as Excel sheets, On-premises data warehouses, and cloud-based data storage, then turn them into business insights.

Power BI carries 3 working concepts:

  • Data sets Collection of data that is imported or connected to Power BI.

  • Reports A report is one or more visualization pages. Reports can be in the form of charts or graphs.

  • Dashboard Integration view that displays a set of reports from a set of datasets.

Some features of power BI:

  • Get Data This feature offers data retrieval services from various data sources. Such as, importing from files, content packs, and databases.

  • Visualizations The Visualizations feature supports graphic customization. There are approximately 30 tools that can be used.
